AIUEO Anime: Sekai no Douwa is sweet little anime series from 1989 that takes classic fairy tales and fables, you know, Aesop's stuff and folk stories from different countries, and turns them into short animated episodes. It's all about teaching lessons through animal characters and simple stories that actually mean something. The art style is soft and gentle, everything moves at a relaxed pace, and it's very much designed to teach kids good values.
