The popular manga *The Three‑Eyed Boy Comes Here* was adapted into the eighth entry of a special 24‑hour animated series. In this version, Toei Animation Co., Ltd. produced the film, replacing Tezuka Productions Co., Ltd. Tezuka Osamu was responsible only for the original story and the animation synopsis. Drawing from the manga’s “Easter Island: Sea Voyage,” the plot follows Sharaku and Wato as they investigate a mysterious old ship, which ultimately leads them on a sea voyage around strange islands. The adaptation places greater emphasis on entertainment rather than thematic depth, a shift that prompted Tezuka Productions to withdraw from the project.
