Ayako, who has autism, is mocked by most of her classmates except for Yuri, the only girl who shows her kindness. Grateful for Yuri’s compassion, Ayako gifts her a beaded bracelet. When the school begins preparing for the summer cultural festival, Yuri is inspired by Ayako’s present to create a new decoration for one of the school’s exterior walls, a giant picture composed of ropes beaded with empty cans of various colors. Together, Ayako and the other students gather empty cans from around the city and begin assembling the artwork. Just a day before the festival’s opening, a typhoon strikes, threatening to ruin the children’s hard work.
