After a tragic event leaves Yabuki Joe disheartened, he abandons his gym and wanders the streets. During his travels he encounters Wolf Kanagushi and Goromaki Gondo, whose presence reignites the dying embers inside him and brings his wandering to an end. Returning home, Joe resumes boxing, but an unseen internal struggle hinders his progress. To help him overcome these obstacles, a world‑renowned Venezuelan boxer, Carlos Rivera, is invited to guide and support him.
