Set in a bleak, distant future, the Asylum is the last hope for tomorrow’s dreamers. Hiyoko, whose father forbids her from becoming an artist, flees to a tent city built within an abandoned stadium known as the Asylum. There she encounters other talented youths and discovers her own identity and purpose. When corrupt officials and police plan to demolish the Asylum, they attempt to win public support through a festival called the Asylum Session, using art and culture to sway the hearts of the people.
