The story unfolds in a vast, multi‑level city where thousands of layers of architecture overlap so densely that the sky and the ground become indistinguishable, and the notion of “up” or “down” loses meaning. In this abandoned, “shutdown” zone, humanity seeks answers to the mysteries that bind time and space. The protagonist, Kirii, wanders through this labyrinthine metropolis in search of the uninfected Net Terminal Genes, a quest that drives the narrative and anchors the story’s intrigue. The series expands on the manga’s side stories through Log 1 to Log 6, focusing on Cibo, the character who departs with Kirii and drifts through the ruined city. A discarded disc is discovered in the rubble, and Cibo begins to download its contents, raising questions about which memories will be retained. These animated shorts are supplemental to the manga and offer additional, non‑essential scenes rather than new plot developments.
