Tokiwa was the apartment complex where a group of future manga stars lived in 1953. Hiro Terada, Motoo Abiko, and Hiroshi Fujimoto, along with Shotaro Ishinomori and Fujio Akatsuka, shared the hardships of being penniless, unestablished artists and writers, struggling with editors, romance, and survival. Their fierce youthful enthusiasm allowed them to endure those lean years and ultimately rise to become prominent figures in the manga world.
