Keiko, the only daughter of the Takazis family, was born with severe disabilities, deaf, mute, and mentally handicapped. Although her parents tried to accept her condition, their struggles persisted. Everything changed when Keiko entered a school for deaf and mute children. Through the support and friendship of teachers and classmates, both Keiko and her parents grew and learned to collaborate. Together, they founded a group called Donguri (acorn), creating a community workshop that empowers people with disabilities to become independent.
