Saved by Merlin, a wise magician, Arthur is raised by a retired knight. At fifteen, he proves himself the rightful king of all Britain when he pulls the sacred sword Excalibur from its iron stand, a feat no other man has ever achieved. To truly ascend the throne, he must defeat King Lavic, who is protected by the evil witch Medessa. Merlin instructs Arthur that the Holy Shield is the key to vanquishing both Lavic and Medessa.
