Gongitsune is a celebrated Japanese children’s tale that follows the adventures of a mischievous little fox named Gon. Widely regarded as the masterpiece of Nankichi Niimi, often called the Hans Christian Andersen of Japan, the story chronicles Gon’s quest for food as he ventures into a small village, where he repeatedly steals food and causes mischief while constantly evading the angry villagers.
