Description
The girls of the Social Welfare Agency are not ordinary children. They are the grisly remnants of human wreckage, pieced together with cybernetic implants and trained to kill by the government. The oldest, Triela, pursues her targets with ferocious enthusiasm, refusing to settle for anything less than total annihilation. Her counterpart is Pinocchio, a boy who has been reduced to a shell after being raised as an assassin by the FRF, a terrorist organization in conflict with the SWA. Cold and efficient, he wields sharpened steel as though it were an extension of his own hand. Once human, these shattered souls have become murderous machines, remembering only vague traces of what it meant to be real, and are driven by a brutal compulsion.
