Gestalt was filmed over the span of a year in a Tokyo dormitory. Every day, Ishida painted on a wall and photographed the work using the light from a window. The seven‑minute film, accompanied by haunting organ music composed by J.S. Bach, compiles the few seconds of footage Ishida captured each day.
