Hikari is a young schoolgirl who dreams of becoming a champion in rhythmic gymnastics, idolizing Diliana Gueorguiva. Despite setbacks during her performances, she works hard and, with the help of Takaaki Oiishi, her school’s top male gymnast, soon joins the school’s rhythmic gymnastics team. Hikari falls in love with Oiishi, but she is not the only one: Hazuki Shiina, the best gymnast at the school, also harbors feelings for him. A friendship develops between Hikari and Shiina, yet rivalry follows them both in the sport and in their pursuit of Oiishi’s affection. Meanwhile, Hikari is torn between her feelings for Oiishi and her long‑standing affection for Mao Natsukawa, an old childhood friend who is the lead singer of the band Mr. D and who composes the music she performs to.
