After returning from a study trip, Diego Vega discovers his homeland has fallen under an army dictatorship. Refusing to remain idle, he adopts the persona of Zorro to protect the weak and oppressed. Though brave and not a coward, he cannot win the affection of his sweetheart, Lolita, who is drawn to other, more noble men. Undeterred, Diego serenades Lolita as Zorro and battles the evils of his country, hoping to win her heart.
