Hino Kahoko attends a school divided into two branches: the Normal Branch, whose students wear grey uniforms, and the Music Branch, whose students wear white. While the school's tradition is a music competition, it is customary for students from the Music Branch to be chosen to participate. One day, Kahoko encounters a fairy named Lili, she is the only student who can see him. Because of this, Kahoko becomes the sole representative from the Normal Branch in the competition. Though she has no musical background, Lili gifts her a magic violin that can be played by anyone who truly believes they can. Kahoko must now confront the challenges of the competition, her rivals, and her classmates.
