Kobo Tabata lives with a typical Japanese family: his father works as a salaryman, his mother is a housewife, and his maternal grandparents help care for the household and its pets. His uncle, a slightly overweight high‑school teacher, also joins the family. Despite the ordinary setting, the family frequently encounters odd situations that arise from Kobo’s coming‑of‑age experiences or from their own habits and misunderstandings.
