Her father and her brothers, Abel and Arthur, cherish her, yet her mother regards her as an intruder and keeps her heart closed. As Georgie matures into a beautiful young woman, both brothers develop deep affection for her. Ignorant of the hidden truth, Georgie falls in love with the handsome grandson of the British Governor. When her mother finally discloses the secret, that Georgie is the daughter of an exile, and condemns her, Georgie departs for Britain in search of her biological parents and to reunite with the love who has also fled from Austral.
