Dr. Kazuki, sensing an invasion of Earth by the Izaru people, constructs a robot using principles of magnetism and sphere‑joint theory. During a perilous augmentation process, his daughter Mai becomes the pilot of the Mighty or Magnetman Minus, while Takeshi Hojo pilots the Puraiza or Magnetman Plus. The pilots hold each other and then transform their joint bodies into metallic plates that lock onto the frame of the Gakeen (short for “Gathering Keen”) robot, allowing the super‑robot to move and fight. The sequence of this transformation is noted for its almost‑sexual connotation.
