Description
Manga Nippon Mukashibanashi (1976) is an omnibus-format television series that adapts Japanese folk tales into anime. It is one of Japan’s longest-running TV series and was Group Tac’s second television production. The series followed a rule that the creative staff changed from episode to episode, ensuring that each installment had a distinct look and feel. While later series such as Nippon Animation’s Famous Works of Japanese Literature attempted a similar approach, none matched the longevity or success of this series. The rotating staff system made the show visually rich and varied, making it genuinely rewarding to experience.
