Neko Funjatta is a song performed during the Minna no Uta segment, based on the German piano piece “Flohwalzer” (Flea Waltz). The original work is commonly one of the first pieces beginners learn because its fingering is simple, allowing students to perform a harmonically and rhythmically pleasing piece. While it bears different names in various countries, in Japan it is known as “Neko Funjatta” (I Stepped on the Cat).
