Description

Okori Jizou is a stop‑motion adaptation of the eponymous book that portrays the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. A six‑year‑old girl named Hiro‑chan is burned by the blast while playing with a laughing Jizo statue. As she cries out her mother’s name and begs for water, the statue’s face changes to an angry expression, and tears begin to flow from its eyes, tears that Hiro‑chan is able to drink.
