Akitsu Masato, a seemingly ordinary student, is abruptly taken by a clandestine government program called the Last Guardian. He learns that his life as a normal student was fabricated and that his true purpose is to become the pilot of the colossal mecha, Zeorymer of the Heavens. The reality of his destiny becomes stark when he witnesses his parents receive payment for his upbringing. The Last Guardian is orchestrating the revival of Hau Dragon, an organization determined to conquer the world. Fifteen years earlier, Hau Dragon constructed eight massive robots, each embodying a different element of nature. Before any of them could be deployed, their creator, Kihara Masaki, destroyed all but the leading robot, Zeorymer. He carried Zeorymer and an embryo into government custody.
