The episode is the second in the series “Rockman Hoshi ni Negai wo,” in which Rockman travels from the Game‑World to the real world to learn about cultural differences in Japan. It was originally intended as a special episode for Ruby‑Spears’ 1995 Mega Man cartoon that aired in the United States. Production was completed before the studio decided to remake the entire show with a new design more suited to American audiences, and because the episode no longer fit the updated style it was left out of the series. Two additional episodes covering the same premise were later produced under the main title “Rockman”; unlike episode two, where the character is referred to as “Mega Man” even in the Japanese dub, the later episodes use the Japanese name. The fate of these episodes remains unclear.
