Description

Rurouni Kenshin follows Himura Kenshin, a wandering swordsman with a dark past who has taken a vow never to kill again. Formerly an infamous assassin known as Hitokiri Battōsai during the Meiji Restoration, Kenshin seeks to atone for the lives he took and travels the countryside as a rurouni, a wandering warrior unaffiliated with any clan.

In Tokyo, during the 11th year of the Meiji era, Kenshin encounters a diverse group of companions, including a skilled female kendo practitioner, a reformed thief, a streetwise brawler, and a dedicated doctor, each with their own histories and personal struggles. Together, they face threats from individuals connected to Kenshin’s violent past, forcing him to confront unresolved conflicts while striving to uphold his principles of nonviolence.

The series explores themes such as redemption, the moral consequences of violence, friendship, and the struggle to reconcile one’s past with a desire for peace. It combines historical action with character-driven storytelling, highlighting the challenges of living honorably in a changing society.
