Zeus, the great god, created a three‑tier hierarchy of angels, top, middle, and lower, even though they were originally meant to be equal. He then appointed six angels as Saint Beasts to govern Earth’s animals: Go, the seiyu; Shin, the genbu; Rei, the suzaku; Guy, the byakko; Yuda, the kirin; and Ruka, the hooh. However, Kira, the shooting star, and Maya, the fuga, did not attend the selection tests and left for Earth. The six angels faithfully fulfilled their duties, but as Zeus’s rule grew increasingly tyrannical, they began to mistrust him.
