The story follows Kazuya Shibuya, a young man who receives an anonymous email inviting him to the Savanna Game, a state‑sanctioned killing game designed to motivate the inhibited youth of modern Japan. Alongside his friends Kotegawa and Kudou, Kazuya is thrust into bizarre battles that span the space‑time continuum, facing everything from dragons to the Shinsengumi forces of the shogunate era. The series was originally announced in 2011 with plans to air in 2012.
