Based on the manga by Okazaki Takeshi, which began in 1990, *Seirei Tsukai* follows Kagura after a family tragedy leaves him with only his close friend Asami for comfort. While their world is in turmoil, a war breaks out in the spiritual realm. Beings known as “Elementalors” summon spirit power to maintain harmony by balancing the forces of nature. Lord Shiki, a water Elementalor, kidnaps Asami because she possesses special powers that could help him free his daughter, who has been imprisoned after nearly destroying the Earth. Kagura learns that he himself is an Elementalor, an exceptionally powerful one, and must join forces with other Elementalors to rescue Asami and prevent Lord Shiki from releasing his daughter, which would create a catastrophic imbalance.
