Description
Lan, a Native American boy who lives with his father at the foot of the Sierra Nevada, encounters two orphaned bears. He names the male bear Jacky and the female bear Jill, and the three form a close bond. Their happiness is short‑lived when Lan’s father accidentally shoots the bears’ mother, killing her. Feeling remorse, Lan takes Jacky and Jill back home to care for them.
