Makoto Mizuhara is conducting his latest experiment in the school science lab when his lifelong rival, Katsuhiko Jinnai, interrupts, attempting to sabotage the device and discredit Makoto. The experiment overloads, transporting Makoto, Jinnai, Jinnai’s sister Nanami, and their teacher, Mr. Fujisawa, to the strange and magnificent world of El Hazard. Makoto and Fujisawa find themselves in the Kingdom of Roshtaria, where they quickly befriend Princess Rune Venus. Jinnai allies with the Bugrom, a race of giant insects intent on conquering El Hazard, while Nanami struggles to survive in the desert.
