Sousei no Aquarion

Once upon a time a race known as the Shadow Angels attacked Earth, harvesting the life force of all inhabitants. A miraculous event rendered the Shadow Angels dormant, allowing humanity to live another 12,000 years without fear. Eleven years after a catastrophe called the Holy Genesis devastated the planet, the Shadow Angels awoke and resumed their attacks. To give humanity a fighting chance, the organization DEAVA was established and authorized the use of the robotic weapon Aquarion. For Aquarion to reach full power, three pilots must merge their hearts, bodies, and souls into one, a feat few can achieve. Thus, the search for “Element Users” became a top priority, offering hope for humanity’s survival. Sousei no Aquarion follows Apollo, a near‑feral young man raised in poverty who is believed to be a reincarnated legendary hero. After his best friend is taken by the Shadow Angels, Apollo decides to become an Aquarion pilot. Will he be able to turn the tide of war and free humanity from the Shadow Angels once and for all?
