In the near future, a dramatic shift in the planet’s climate creates a perpetual super‑cyclone in the Western Pacific, known as the Grand Roar. The storm reshapes the world, flooding much of the globe and making shipping and navigation critical to national interests. With the rise of ocean pirates, corporations are forced to commission escort cruisers to protect their assets. Hyousuke Nagimiya, a systems engineer, is tasked with upgrading the Pascal Magi, a warship crewed entirely by women under Captain Misaki Nanaha. Together, the crew strives to prove their worth to detractors and show they are more than a mere “Alice Brand.” As they carry out their mission, they uncover a larger global conspiracy that seeks to exploit the chaos caused by the Grand Roar.
