Tottoi feels an overwhelming thrill when he discovers a small creature in a mysterious cave. The beauty and dignity of wildlife captivate those who still cherish nature. Sardinia, with its stunning beaches and enigmatic caves, is home to a rare seal species on the brink of extinction. After moving to the island, Tottoi, driven by his fascination with nature, visits various beaches and caves daily. One day he encounters a seal cub and its mother in an isolated cave; the cub’s playful antics and the mother’s dignified presence quickly win his heart. As Tottoi bonds with the seals, his secret is exposed to indifferent adults. In an effort to protect the animals, a plan is devised to capture them for an aquarium, endangering the seals’ freedom. Despite the pain of parting from his new friends, Tottoi must stand up for their well‑being and ensure they return to the sea.
