Shinichiro is a high‑school student whose life might be considered a dream by most boys, yet for him it is largely frustrating. He shares a home with Hiromi, a popular and well‑liked girl who has lived there for a year after her father, a close family friend, died. Though Hiromi is always smiling and excels at sports, Shinichiro senses that tears lie hidden beneath her cheerful exterior. With an artistic inclination, he paints her in watercolor, hoping to ease her sorrow, but he cannot bring himself to speak with her, even within his own home. The quiet and withdrawn demeanor Hiromi displays at home is a stark contrast to the confident girl she is at school. Meanwhile, Shinichiro’s attention is further diverted by teasing from other classmates.
