Twilight Q follows two intertwined tales. In “A Knot in Time,” Mayu discovers a bizarre camera adrift in the sea while on vacation. The device, which has never been produced and is slated for release in two years, contains mostly intact film showing Mayu standing beside a man she has never seen before. As she investigates, Mayu begins to swing uncontrollably back and forth through time like a pendulum. Meanwhile, “Mystery Case – File 538” introduces a down‑on‑his‑luck detective who takes on a surveillance assignment involving a man and a little girl. The case raises questions: who are they, and why do the airplanes that fly overhead transform into giant imperial carp? Conventional investigative methods prove ineffective, pushing the detective toward unconventional solutions.
