044 becomes the strongest female soldier after a gene‑manipulating virus grants her unmatched combat abilities. However, her powers come with a grim cost: her life is effectively short‑lived. The government’s next objective is to annihilate the bloodthirsty insurgent group Phage and its leader, King. During the mission, 044 encounters Phage soldier Luka and finds herself unable to kill him. Confused by this reluctance, she is branded a traitor by Daxus Jr., the government team’s commander. With both Phage and the government turning on her, 044 flees alongside the wounded Luka.
