Umi no Uta
Sea Roar / 海の唄
Description
In a fishing village, an abandoned boat is cremated. The aging fishing vessels, on the brink of their own demise, imagine deep‑sea fish swimming through alleys, fishermen hauling their nets, and the sorrowful apparition of a young girl. These images rise and recede like waves on a shore, drawing the audience into a daydream. The poetic short film earned international critical acclaim, beginning with its premiere at the Oberhausen International Short Film Festival.
