Ushio had always dismissed his father’s tale of an ancient ancestor who impaled a demon on a temple altar stone with the legendary Beast Spear as nothing more than a wild legend. That perception is challenged when he discovers the very same monster, Tora, in his own basement. Knowing that disturbing captured demons can have dire consequences, Ushio initially leaves Tora undisturbed. However, the unleashed evil energy from Tora’s release begins to attract other demons to his hometown. Facing an onslaught of invading spirits, Ushio is compelled to free Tora from captivity in a desperate attempt to protect his friends and family. Yet the decision raises a perilous question: will the cure be worse than the curse? Will Ushio become a Tora snack, or will the Beast Spear contain Tora long enough to save the city?
