Sun Wukong, born from a magical stone, had been imprisoned beneath a mountain for five centuries after causing mischief in the heavens. When the goddess Guanyin informs him that the monk Xuanzang will set him free, Wukong joins the monk on a pilgrimage from China to India. The following day, Xuanzang releases him, and the two begin their journey westward. Along the way, they are joined by Zhu Bajie and the hermit Sha Wujing. Together, they confront countless dangers, evil creatures, and sorcerers while learning to live together in harmony.
