After learning a little carpentry from his grandfather, the young panda felt an irresistible urge to become a carpenter. Despite his grandpa’s discouragement, he set out on his own. When a giraffe mother and her children discovered that their dining table was broken, they sought the grandpa panda’s help. The little panda, humming a song, hurried over and took the job. He managed to repair the table, but the result was a lower‑profile piece. He also fixed Uncle Elephant’s bathtub, repeatedly patching the leak to create a solid wooden block. Additionally, he helped the little monkeys repair their peach‑shaped boxes, even placing the monkeys inside. Despite his enthusiasm, the little panda is still far from becoming a fully qualified carpenter.
