Description
Set in a world preceding ours, the story portrays a realm in turmoil where forces of good and evil clash and intertwine, creating the possibility of a new world emerging. A pair of winged beings fall in love, fly away, and lay an egg. When their child opens its eyes, the parents are immediately destroyed, one engulfed by fire, the other consumed by water. The mythical, elemental setting crafted by Tsuji is both perilous and ominous, filled with apocalyptic signs, yet it also exudes tenderness and compassion. 'A Feather Stare at the Dark' captures simple gestures and primal emotions, amplifying them and revealing the power of the non‑verbal and non‑literal with remarkable grace.
