Rooted in Mongolian folklore, the story follows young warrior Barter as he arrives at Balin Grassland. While there, he rescues a young girl from a herd of running horses and discovers that she is the daughter of the wrestling coach employed by the grassland lord. Barter begins to learn wrestling while working as a coolie for the lord, and he falls in love with the girl he saved. Yet his presence in the grassland is driven by a deeper purpose: he is seeking the man who killed his father.
