Description
Mirai, an advanced Kongō‑class Aegis guided‑missile destroyer, is one of the newest and most sophisticated vessels in the Japanese Self‑Defense Forces. Its crew, also among the newest, is led by Captain Saburo Umezu and Executive Officer Yosuke Kadomatsu. During a scheduled training exercise, Mirai is hit by a fierce storm that temporarily disrupts its navigation systems. After a brief recovery, the crew discovers that they have been transported back in time to June 4, 1942, the day of the Battle of Midway during World War II.
