Description
This educational film explores Japan’s Elephant Trains. During World War II, many zoos culled their dangerous animals, including elephants, to prevent potential release during Allied bombings. After the war, only two elephants survived in Japan, residing at Higashiyama Zoo in Nagoya. In response, special trains known as Elephant Trains were organized to bring children from across the nation to visit the remaining elephants.
