After more than 20 years, fans of the iconic 1998 anime Cowboy Bebop can finally experience its long-lost PlayStation 2 game in English. Originally released exclusively in Japan in 2004, Cowboy Bebop: Tsuioku no Yoru (meaning Night of Remembrance) never made it to Western audiences, until now.
A passionate modder known as Sonicman69 has completed a full English translation patch, giving global fans the chance to dive into the stylish, noir-inspired world of Spike Spiegel and his crew. The project includes translated menus, dialogues, and in-game subtitles, all while preserving the game’s distinct atmosphere and jazzy aesthetic.
The PS2 title offers a mix of action and storytelling, following an original plot set within the Bebop universe. Players can pilot ships, explore new missions, and enjoy original voice work from the Japanese cast.
With this translation, Cowboy Bebop: Tsuioku no Yoru joins the growing list of classic Japan-only games brought to life by fan translators, reviving a piece of anime gaming history that had been locked away for decades.
So if you’ve ever wanted to hunt bounties in space with the Bebop crew, now’s your chance.
