One Piece Remake Update Disappoints Fans at Jump Festa 2026

One Piece Remake Update Disappoints Fans at Jump Festa 2026

So One Piece fans were really hoping we'd get some juicy details about the remake at Jump Festa 2026, but... nothing. The event came and went with tons of cool stuff announced for the current anime's Elbaf Arc and even a new movie, but as far as the remake goes? Still no release date or anything concrete.

Still No Release Date

The remake, which they're calling The One Piece, is being handled by WIT Studio and Netflix. They first announced it at Jump Festa 2024, showed off some character designs and concept art, but since then we've barely heard anything about when it's actually coming out.

When Eiichiro Oda took the stage at the event, he did mention that the remake is "well in progress", which is... something? But that's all we got. No premiere date, no episode count, nothing useful.

At Least There's Other One Piece Stuff Coming

Look, even though the remake news was a letdown, there's still a lot happening in the One Piece world. The regular anime is switching to a seasonal format for the Elbaf Arc starting in 2026, and there's a new movie in the works too (though they're being pretty vague about that as well).

So What's Taking So Long?

Honestly, the slow drip of info has a lot of people worried. Sure, they've shown us character designs here and there, but the fact that there's still no timeline has some fans thinking this might not even come out in 2026. Could be way later than anyone expected.

The whole point of this remake is to retell the One Piece story from the beginning, starting with East Blue, for a new worldwide audience. People are definitely still hyped for it, but we're basically just waiting around for WIT Studio, Netflix, or Oda to actually tell us something real.

What's Your Take?

Pretty frustrating that we didn't get any remake news, right? Or do you think maybe the extra time means it'll be even better when it finally drops? Let us know what you think, and I guess we'll all just keep waiting for updates.
