Yu Yu Hakusho Gets Official English Blu-ray Re-Release with Remastered Episodes

Great news for classic anime fans: Yu Yu Hakusho, the beloved 90s shonen anime, is making its triumphant return with a fully remastered Blu-ray release in North America. FUNimation has officially announced that all 112 episodes of the series will be available in high-definition, complete with both the original Japanese audio and the iconic English dub that introduced a generation of fans to Yusuke Urameshi and his Spirit Detective adventures.

This definitive Blu-ray box set goes beyond just visual enhancements. It will include never-before-seen bonus content such as behind-the-scenes interviews with the original English voice cast, exclusive art galleries, and perhaps most excitingly for longtime fans, the two OVA episodes, "Two Shots" and "All or Nothing", which were previously unreleased outside Japan. This marks the first time international audiences will have official access to these post-series stories in physical media form.

Originally airing in Japan from 1992 to 1995 and later becoming a staple of Toonami’s lineup in the early 2000s, Yu Yu Hakusho was a major gateway anime for Western audiences. Created by Yoshihiro Togashi (Hunter x Hunter), the series mixes supernatural elements, tournament arcs, character-driven drama, and sharp humor, earning it a place among the most iconic anime of its era.

The remastered release arrives in January 2026, perfectly timed to celebrate over 30 years of the show's enduring legacy. Whether you're a veteran fan ready to revisit the Spirit World or a newcomer curious about one of anime's most influential titles, this Blu-ray collection promises the ultimate viewing experience.

Pre-orders are expected to go live later this year, with limited-edition packaging and collectible extras teased by FUNimation. More details to follow via official channels.
