Atom is a robotic boy who possesses superhuman powers and an artificial intelligence system unmatched by any other robot. Created by Dr. Tenma to replace his late son, Tobio, Atom is initially shut down after Dr. Tenma destroys his laboratory. Dr. Ochanomizu, the head of the Ministry of Science, later revives Atom and encourages him to lead a normal life as a sixth‑grade student while assisting the police in stopping rogue robots and hateful humans. Atom confronts severe prejudice because of his robotic nature and must uncover the truth about his creator, Dr. Tenma.
