Shun has loved the guitar since childhood, and whenever he plays he feels pure joy. A guitarist swept up by the powerful vibrations of rock‑and‑roll, he constantly feels a “thirst” in his everyday life. When he asks, “How can I express myself through music?” his company suddenly announces a transfer to the Shanghai office. His colleague and girlfriend Kaori is thrilled, thinking a normal life together will be happy. While contemplating this new chapter, Shun meets a mysterious girl named Kyōko. She once debuted as an idol but left the industry because she could no longer bear its demands. Like Shun, she wonders how to express herself through music. Their chance encounter turns pivotal when Kyōko urges, “You shouldn’t stay here!” Her advice deeply moves Shun. He must decide between an ordinary, happy life with Kaori and an uncertain future that might lead to greater artistic fulfillment. Meanwhile, Kaori worries about the changes in her boyfriend. The story builds toward a climax where the characters confront their desires. Life is not about comforting each other but insisting on oneself, expressing the “something” that emerges from confrontation, even when it hurts. Even when this “something” feels like a spiral, Shun and Kyōko discover their shared longing, sparking a new “what if…?” in their minds.
