A mysterious figure breaks into Mayuri Kurotsuchi’s laboratory in the Seireitei. Rukia witnesses the chaos, but the intruders soon abduct her, and she feels a part of herself fading away. Meanwhile, in the world of the living, Ichigo and Kon notice a strange disturbance and head to Kisuke Urahara’s shop for answers. Urahara informs them that the Seireitei has been destroyed, prompting the pair to travel to the Soul Society. Upon arrival, Ichigo finds that the Soul Reapers there have lost all memories of him and Rukia. He must discover what happened to Rukia and try to rescue her before they are forced to part forever.
