Bomberman: Yuuki wo Arigatou - Watashi ga Mimi ni Naru

The story follows Rieko, an elementary‑school girl who lives with her deaf‑mute parents and her younger sister. Rieko dreams of drawing cartoons that bring joy, and she frequently doodles comics featuring Bomberman and his friends in her notebooks. One night an earthquake strikes the city, leaving their neighbourhood in ruins. The family rushes to a shelter, where misunderstandings arise among the workers because Rieko’s parents cannot hear or speak. Rieko helps resolve the conflict and keeps an eye on her little sister. With the support of Kyoko, a volunteer worker from Tokyo, the community in the shelter gradually grows closer and learns to understand one another. Rieko entertains the other children with her Bomberman drawings, including a comic that shows the heroes and villains setting aside their differences to cooperate when the battle arena collapses on top of them. The film concludes with a brief public‑safety message from the Bomberman gang, offering advice on protecting one’s home and evacuating safely. Despite heavy branding, the Bomberman content is minimal; Rieko’s comic strips are the main source of entertainment, leading into three short animated vignettes featuring the cast of Super Bomberman 3.
